DR. GOLDWYN B. FOGGIE, MD, FACOG
Dr. Goldwyn B. Foggie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Northwestern University and a Doctorate of Medicine degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She has over 20 years experience in women’s health and is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Her interest in fitness and nutrition grew some years ago as her parents suffered from the sequelae of type II diabetes and heart disease. She joined Team Dream ( a womens triathlon group) and learned to swim and began an active lifestyle which led to completing two triathlons and several races from 5k to half marathon distance. She participates in Women Run the World (a fitness group which supports women on every fitness level).
Dr. Foggie became a member of The Obesity Medicine Association and The Obesity Society as she realized that most health care providers including herself were not adequately equipped to help patients who are overweight or obese. She quickly developed a love for the field of bariatric medicine and is now a board-certified Obesity Medicine Specialist.
Ilinois Wellness and Weight Loss Centers was founded to fulfill a need to mitigate obesity. We are dedicated to its mission to promote health and wellness through the prevention and treatment of obesity in an effort to eliminate its multiple associated co-morbidities.

Obesity is dangerous enough with adults but the health problem of a obese child can be even more frightening because they are showing up much earlier in life. What used to be considered almost exclusively the health problems of middle age are now becoming very common in younger children and teens.
